I have a 15″ boat that I want to have a blind for front and back. I’m assuming that the fabric is 60″ wide. How do I know how much fabric I will need? Sorry for first timer.
Hey Kevin! Thanks for the question! It’s a common question actually but it is simple. Every yard is 3 feet. So if you order 5 yards, you would have 15 ft of fabric 60″ wide! 🙂
Which is more water resistant. 500d nylon or 600d poly?
The 500D nylon has a two pass polyurethane coating on the back where the polyester has only a one pass coating. Both also have a water repellent treatment and are considered water resistant but you may have a little more peace of mind going with the 500D Cordura nylon because of this thicker urethane coating. tks!
I need to make a flip over camo blanket for a low pro blind that im attaching green garland to so it needs to be fairly tough and i was thinking that bottomland camo pattern which is the toughest material you have that you think will work for this
Please respond by email on the message i sent you please
Wondering how the fabric handles sunlight, as does it fade and/or turn pink? Is it UV protected?
Good question Mark. The key is how was the fabric printed. If it is transfer printed (which most polyesters are, including our 600D poly oxford), then it will tend to fade much faster and will also start showing a reddish/pinkish cast. If it was printed with pigments or other dyestuff (like our 500D Cordura nylon), then it will not fade as quickly and will just overall fade out without flaring towards the red.
One exception on our 600D polyester fabric is the 600D poly with the Shadowblock PU. This is made specifically for hunting blinds and uses pigment print instead of transfer print. So, it will behave similar to the 500D nylon in that respect. I only carry this 600D Shadowblock fabric in Mossy Oak Break-Up.
